Barry M - Dusky Mauve

Hello followers! 

I have been gone a while from my blog but I have in no way abandoned it, I just went through a time where I had no energy to keep changing my nail polish and just wanted some bare nails but that's over and now I am back with a polish that has been in my collection nearly a year and I'm sure I've never worn it but it's kind of hard to keep track lol ;)

Another exciting thing, my next update I will be using a new camera that is on it's way due on Tuesday. A Samsung NX1100, that comes with Photoshop Lightroom 4, I've never used any type of editing software so I am excited to try that and also a Galaxy tablet 2. Woo lots of goodies but the camera was the thing I wanted this was just a good package. 20.3mp camera and it comes with a 20-50mm lens, my experience is a basic 10mp point and shoot camera so this should be fun :D

Anyway onto the swatch of Barry M Dusky Mauve. 

2 good coats for full opaquness, this is a gem, a lovely dark brown like colour a bit like there Cappuccino but in the right angles and light, it flashes through with a beautiful lavender colour.

• What is your favorite thing about blogging and why did you start? I love being apart of the blogger community and showing off pretty polish and art, I started as I was reading a lot of blogs at the time. 
• How would you describe your fashion style? I don't think I have one I just wear what makes me comfortable and warm, I feel the cold a lot. 

• If you could be fluent in any language, what would it be and why? Italian I really just love Italian.
• What is the worst skincare product you've ever tried? I tried a LUSH face mask once, my face was bright red after use.
• What is one makeup item you couldn't live without? That is hard, I would say mascara but probably my face powder, I hate my face so many issues U_U
• If time and money weren't an issue, where would travel and for how long? Everywhere lol Italy, America, Harry Potter world ^^ Japan err so many places, ohh Australia too. 
• What is your summer beauty routine? The same as my winter one lol Now my routine consists of face wash, ultrasun sun cream, all in one snail cream, toner, face mosturiser, eye cream, tinted primer, face powder, blush, concealer, brow wax, mascara, it's a long morning lol. Night double cleanse and an added snail gel to seal it all in, alternate between face scrubs and face masks (I have an amazing coffee scrub, just yum!)
• What is the first Asian cosmetic brand you ever tried? Hmmm I think it was Mizon.
• Does cute packaging get you to buy? Yes ^^
• Coffee or tea? Coffee.

• 1. Where did your blog name come from? I am not very inventive and I wanted to make a blog just about nail talk, maybe I will move onto beauty products one day but right now nails is enough.  
• 2. Do you swatch your whole hand, both hands or just the four fingers of your non-dom hand? Just the 4 fingers of my non-dom hand, sometimes the whole hand. 
• 3. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? I kid I kid, what is the dream for your blog?  Any hopes for its future? Just to show people pretty polish and nail art and hope they enjoy reading it :)
• 4. Do you display your polishes or are they tidied away? Tidied away.
• 5. Favourite film? Hard one, I am a die hard Harry Potter fan but for comic laughs Despicable Me for those cute little minions ^^ Can I buy one? :P
• 6. What makes a good polish for you? Bottle shape, consistency, brush thickness, etc? Colour really and consistency and the brush, a good polish is ruined if the brush is terrible or it streaks ><
• 7. What was your dream job as a kid? I think I wanted to be a fire person haha
• 8. Gifs in blogs, yay or nay? I don't mind :)
• 9. What's the best thing that's happened to you because of your blog? I joined some pretty awesome groups for bloggers and it opens your eyes to so many brands you never knew about. 
• 10. Who shot first? Err trick question? lol
• 11. How long can you see yourself blogging for? For as long as I enjoy it :)

2. When someone comments on your posts, do you always reply? I think I always reply, unless I have not been on in a while and didn't see it because I don't think they will see it after then but I always try too as I love getting comments :)

3. Have you ever had any negative comments? If so how do you react? I have never.

4. What's your favourite season and why? Autumn I love the colours and crunchy leaves lol

5. If you could be any animal, what would you be? Tiger or maybe a penguin my favourites.

7. Do you enjoy blogging? Or has it taken over your life? I do enjoy it, I don't let it take over, if I have no time I blog when I can.

Illamasqua - Fragile

Hi followers!

Today I have a swatch from the first Illamasqua that I have owed in Fragile, one of those lovely speckled polishes. I've had my eyes on these for a while and treat myself too a couple ;)

Fragile is a lovely baby blue base packed with different sizes of black hexes. The effect looks just like Cadbury's mini eggs you get at Easter yum!

This was 2 coats, that went on smooth and dried fast, I didn't need to fish bits of glitter out or move it around, just left it were it lay.

Seventeen - Bijoux Baby

Hello! An update for me, I took quite a while off but I'm back now. 

Recently while out and about I noticed the Seventeen Rock Hard Couture nail effects on a stand, there were 3 colours in stock and I chose the Pink one to try as it appealed to me the most in the bottle.

The colour is a beautiful pale pink packed with gold glitter and when it dries I was surprised that the polish was like an OPI Liquid Sand. I really love textured polishes and I love this one. 

This is 2  coats of the polish which is called Bijoux Baby, it applied smoothly.

Innisfree Peel Off Base Coat

Hi everyone, today I have for you Innisfree peel off base coat review. I have had this for months and never used it, would have come in handy for removing that green jelly sandwich that was a pain to remove U_U

So the peel off base coat is basically a white base coat that your coat your nails with and it dries clear like a regular one. It smells just like PVA glue lol I've read reviews about using PVA glue as a make shift one but I already had this one in so I haven't tried that :)

I did quite a thin coat on each nail, waited about 5 minutes for it to dry. It does dry slower than a normal base coat but the removal makes it worth it. I think due to only applying a thin thin coat it made mine peel of in little bits rather than whole, next time I will try a thicker coat. 

I took this off the day after as I wanted to check it out, there were no chips or peeling so I think it would have lasted a few more days if I hadn't removed it. 

So the glitter I was wearing was 3 coats of Butter London Lovely Jubbly which I used a matte top coat over the top ^^

When I peeled it off there was tiny little bits of base coat left on some of my nails so I quickly went over with a cotton pad and tadaa, 5 minutes = clean nails not acetone and foil ^^

See how mine peeled off in loads of little pieces.

Franken Pink

Here I am back finally!

Today I have a very pretty pink (to me) that I mixed up a while ago and never swatched, so I kind of don't even remember what it is apart from that I made it with Barry M Retro Pink (maybe a 1/4) and China Glaze Good Witch? the rest and I think I put some Barry M Iridescent Pink. Sorry I can't remember (o^.^o).

Here it is, this is 2 even coats for opaqueness with an added rose on my thumb, it's to big for any other finger hehe

Just a little message to my followers (^.^)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to make a little message as it has been a long time since I last posted and as I said in that post my nails were stained and they were stained bad. They were ghastly, a sickly sort of yellow and green and I have not wanted to apply any more polish while they regain there colour back. 

As of now my nails are a lovely normal pink yay, the tips are not so much white but not yellow either but I cute my nails down quite short as they had grown quite weakened U_U

I just wanted to let you all know that I have not abandoned my blog and I wil back within a few days, I plan to swatch a little frank nail polish I did in the next couple of days wohoo!
