24 Days of Ciate - Day 1 Snow Globe

Hello everyone.

Today December the 1st is the start of my 24 days of Ciate. I bought the QVC special calender and I will do a post everyday of December.

Day 1 I opened the door to find Snow Globe a pretty glass fleck top coat. I have swatched it over Barry M Racing Green (originally I was going to do black but I couldn't find it lol)

Gosh - Ocean

Got today a polish that has sadly been sat in my collection for over a year and never been used and I wish I had because I LOVE it. Really if I'd used this earlier someone would have been kicked off my top 10 list to make room for Gosh Ocean ;)

A stunning teal green foil that literally glides on like butter, such an easy application. This is 2 coats but it was opaque fully in 1, I smudged a nail so I applied a second to smooth it out. There are some brush strokes but we all know about those with foils.

I can't gush about it enough, I seriously in love with this poor neglected nail polish.

British Bloggers Top 10 Favourite Nail Polishes

On Friday British Bloggers partook in your top 10 favourite nail polishes. I'm a little seeing as it's Saturday, I was going to do it on Friday after work but I was so tired I forgot *embarrassed* so here are my top 10 favourites:

My favourite so much that I used 1/4 of a bottle in the first month on 2 separate manicures:

Barry Ms Summer Limited Edition Green.

My second two come as sort of a pair.

Galahad from A England, I love this beautiful teal like blue but doubly when paired with favourite no 2 ;)

A England Morgan Le Flay a beautiful shimmer polish fantastic for layering over an array of colours but my favourite is when it's teamed with Galahad like below.

Max Factor Fantasy Fire, I adore this for layering over blacks, dark blues purples even tested over a lilac once. So many combinations but black has the best stand out factor.

Another A England, there are just so many pretties but none like Dragon, a perfect smooth forest like green with scattered holo.

One of my first indie brands given in a swap Daring Digits Hufflepuff. This was lovely but also my house is Hufflepuff so it gets special mentions ;)

China Glaze Stella one of my absolute favourites I was given in a swap which I'm really glad about because I'd never got this for myself and would have missed out.

OPI German-icure. I just love dark vampy autumn colours.

Barry M Greenberry (covered in glitter) perfect summer green. My favourite colours for polish is green so I have a lot.

Another Barry M Limited polish from Christmas 2012 in pink (covered in glitter), this was a nice foil, easy to apply and just a perfect fairy pink colour.

I hope you enjoy my top 10, when you have so many to choose from it's a hard decision but these are 10 I apply again and again. Sorry for the old mani pics type was not of the essence.

Exciting Nail Mail - Ciate Mini Mani Month

Today I just have a bit of exciting nail mail!

The Ciate Mini Mani Month eep. I was so exited to get this in the mail. Ciate have two calendar's released in the UK one on their website and this one which I believe is only available on QVC and it is currently on 4 easy payments. How is that not an incentive to buy it eh? ;)

I am being good as much as I am tempted but I am keeping this as a proper calender so watch out for the 1st December when I will be opening and swatching what is behind each door everyday :D

Avon - Fiery Sky

Hello followers!

Today I have a swatch of an Avon nail polish called Fiery Sky. A pretty red flakie like polish that has been sitting around my collection doing nothing. I teamed it up with a favourite of mine China Glaze Stella.

2 coats of Stella as the base coat and another 2 coats of Fiery Sky made a lovely burgundy purple polish. Fiery Sky applies perfectly, no problems.

I took the pictures indoors with my new Samsung NX1100 so they are actually pretty accurate compared to my old fuji camera that never took good accurate pictures unless in very good light outdoors.

Barry M - Dusky Mauve

Hello followers!

I have been gone a while from my blog but I have in no way abandoned it, I just went through a time where I had no energy to keep changing my nail polish and just wanted some bare nails but that's over and now I am back with a polish that has been in my collection nearly a year and I'm sure I've never worn it but it's kind of hard to keep track lol ;)

Another exciting thing, my next update I will be using a new camera that is on it's way due on Tuesday. A Samsung NX1100, that comes with Photoshop Lightroom 4, I've never used any type of editing software so I am excited to try that and also a Galaxy tablet 2. Woo lots of goodies but the camera was the thing I wanted this was just a good package. 20.3mp camera and it comes with a 20-50mm lens, my experience is a basic 10mp point and shoot camera so this should be fun :D

Anyway onto the swatch of Barry M Dusky Mauve.

2 good coats for full opaquness, this is a gem, a lovely dark brown like colour a bit like there Cappuccino but in the right angles and light, it flashes through with a beautiful lavender colour.

What is your favorite thing about blogging and why did you start? I love being apart of the blogger community and showing off pretty polish and art, I started as I was reading a lot of blogs at the time.
How would you describe your fashion style? I don't think I have one I just wear what makes me comfortable and warm, I feel the cold a lot.

If you could be fluent in any language, what would it be and why? Italian I really just love Italian.
What is the worst skincare product you've ever tried? I tried a LUSH face mask once, my face was bright red after use.
What is one makeup item you couldn't live without? That is hard, I would say mascara but probably my face powder, I hate my face so many issues U_U
If time and money weren't an issue, where would travel and for how long? Everywhere lol Italy, America, Harry Potter world ^^ Japan err so many places, ohh Australia too.
What is your summer beauty routine? The same as my winter one lol Now my routine consists of face wash, ultrasun sun cream, all in one snail cream, toner, face mosturiser, eye cream, tinted primer, face powder, blush, concealer, brow wax, mascara, it's a long morning lol. Night double cleanse and an added snail gel to seal it all in, alternate between face scrubs and face masks (I have an amazing coffee scrub, just yum!)
What is the first Asian cosmetic brand you ever tried? Hmmm I think it was Mizon.
Does cute packaging get you to buy? Yes ^^
Coffee or tea? Coffee.

1. Where did your blog name come from? I am not very inventive and I wanted to make a blog just about nail talk, maybe I will move onto beauty products one day but right now nails is enough.
2. Do you swatch your whole hand, both hands or just the four fingers of your non-dom hand? Just the 4 fingers of my non-dom hand, sometimes the whole hand.
3. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? I kid I kid, what is the dream for your blog? Any hopes for its future? Just to show people pretty polish and nail art and hope they enjoy reading it :)
4. Do you display your polishes or are they tidied away? Tidied away.
5. Favourite film? Hard one, I am a die hard Harry Potter fan but for comic laughs Despicable Me for those cute little minions ^^ Can I buy one? :P
6. What makes a good polish for you? Bottle shape, consistency, brush thickness, etc? Colour really and consistency and the brush, a good polish is ruined if the brush is terrible or it streaks ><
7. What was your dream job as a kid? I think I wanted to be a fire person haha
8. Gifs in blogs, yay or nay? I don't mind :)
9. What's the best thing that's happened to you because of your blog? I joined some pretty awesome groups for bloggers and it opens your eyes to so many brands you never knew about.
10. Who shot first? Err trick question? lol
11. How long can you see yourself blogging for? For as long as I enjoy it :)

2. When someone comments on your posts, do you always reply? I think I always reply, unless I have not been on in a while and didn't see it because I don't think they will see it after then but I always try too as I love getting comments :)

3. Have you ever had any negative comments? If so how do you react? I have never.

4. What's your favourite season and why? Autumn I love the colours and crunchy leaves lol

5. If you could be any animal, what would you be? Tiger or maybe a penguin my favourites.

6. If you could change just one thing in your life, would you? Yes.

7. Do you enjoy blogging? Or has it taken over your life? I do enjoy it, I don't let it take over, if I have no time I blog when I can.
